Professional pruning secateur ASUKA ITALIA
Created for us by slightly lengthening the handles but maintaining the wonderful cut typical of Tobisho scissors. In Hitachi Yasuki YCS-3 steel and confirmed 61-62 hardness.
The shock absorber and the special shape of the blade reduce the effort at the end of the cut.
Model recommended for professionals:
The blade is very thin, like in traditional Japanese artisan knives, to allow an easy and clean cut: the thinnest part of the blade can easily chip, but this does not reduce the cutting capacity: the Hamaguri blade, thanks to its shape, wears differently from commercial blades and can continue to cut for a long time, even in conditions that would make other blades unusable.
Professional Japanese Pruning Shears: Health for Plants and Comfort for Hands
Tobisho professional Japanese pruning shears represent an undisputed excellence in the world of gardening tools. These tools, the result of centuries of artisanal tradition, are designed to ensure a clean and precise cut, essential for the health of your plants. Thanks to their high-quality construction, Tobisho shears minimize the risk of crushing and wounds to the bark, a crucial aspect to prevent bacterial and fungal attacks.
The concave shape of the blades of Tobisho shears allows for clean cuts, preserving the sap of the plants. In fact, the sap acts as a natural barrier against infections, keeping the plants healthy and vigorous. On the contrary, the use of lower-quality commercial shears can lead to irregular cuts that fray the bark, favoring the escape of the sap and increasing the risk of disease.
Another distinctive feature of Tobisho shears is the final treatment of the blades, sharpened like a katana. This precision not only ensures optimal penetration into the branch, but also facilitates exit, making the pruning process smoother and less tiring. Using Tobisho pruners, you can work for hours without suffering from muscle pain, a common problem among those who use lower quality tools.
Choosing Tobisho professional Japanese pruning shears means investing in the health of your plants and the comfort of your hands. With Tobisho, every cut becomes an act of care and attention, transforming pruning into a rewarding and productive experience. Don't settle for less: choose the quality and tradition of Tobisho pruners.

On the right: with Tobisho secateurs the cut is clean and the sap remains on the branch.
Hamaguri blade: The Hamaguri blade of TOBISHO secateurs is sharp as a mirror and its shape resembles that of a shell
The blade of the Tobisho pruning shears is designed to offer exceptional performance. Sharp as a mirror, its unique shape resembles that of a Hamaguri shell, making each cut precise and effortless. Thanks to these innovative features, the blade facilitates penetration and exit between the branches, significantly reducing friction and load on the hands. Choosing Tobisho shears means choosing the quality and comfort of shears that combine tradition and technology, ensuring impeccable results and less fatigue.
One hundred processing phases: all by hand More than 100 steps are needed to get from two steel bars to a pair of TOBISHO secateurs.
This is why Tobisho secateurs last much longer than others: they are more resistant because they consist of only two pieces plus the screw and the spring.
Tobisho Pruning Shears, an excellent example of sustainability and efficiency
Thanks to traditional manufacturing methods and the construction in just two pieces, these shears do not generate unnecessary waste such as maintenance substances or spare parts. This makes them an eco-friendly choice for those who like to take care of plants without compromising the environment. By choosing Tobisho, you are not only investing in a high-quality tool, but also contributing to a more sustainable gardening practice. Opt for responsible innovation and improve your pruning experience!
Characteristic:
● Clean and precise cut thanks to the high-quality carbon steel blade forged and tempered manually.
● Original shape of the blade that allows a clean and precise cut of the branch without crushing and wounding the bark. The branches start easily and are less susceptible to attack by bacteria and fungi.
● The final treatment of the blade sharpened like a Katana guarantees ease of penetration and exit. It increases ease of use and reduces muscle discomfort.
● Comfortable ergonomic handle forged and tempered: light, solid with non-slip coating, guaranteed for life.
● The screw, central pivot, is made of softer steel so as not to ruin the surrounding parts of the blade and counterblade so as to guarantee a long life.
Comment:
If you work a whole day or work every day for months, we recommend A Type Super or Asuka with spring, which causes even less muscle disorders thanks to the spring.

Precautions for use:
When the scissors is new, the blade is very sharp and bites very easily (bites the branch and does not move from there). Until you get used to it (and until the blade gets used to cutting), it is advisable to cut thinner branches.
If you need to cut a thick branch, insert the scissors at the base of the blade at an angle of 45 degrees from the branch and turn slowly.
Also, when cutting with force, be careful to descend vertically without twisting the blade: if you twist the scissors, the screw undergoes an effort and loosens, and the scissors no longer has a perfect balance and no longer works according to the lever principle.
If you follow these simple indications, the scissors will last a long time without any problem.
How to take care of the scissors:
After use, remove the resin with a hard cloth before drying as much as possible and apply a thin layer of mineral oil (such as motor oil).
If it has hardened, scrape away with a hard plastic object (e.g. a ruler).
To keep the scissors in the best conditions, inject a drop of oil around the screw (on the inside, where the blade and counterblade are in contact).
The Hamaguri blade is usable for almost 30% of the visible surface.
It does not need to be sharpened often because even if it is chipped it cuts very well thanks to the particular shape of the blade.
If you sharpen often, the blade wears out with each sharpening.
For daily maintenance, we recommend sharpening with the stone especially made for the Hamaguri blade: this stone always restores a perfect cut, and a long life is guaranteed to the scissors.
* Never sharpen the back of the blade!
